GIG REVEIW from 22/04/03.................

Crazy is one word out of many which describes the actions of last weekend's gig. The first band Sonister played five numbers containing covers and their own. The most striking of these was their song 'Angle Face' in which the lead singer, Johny Balchendarni, sang to utmost perfection in his stylistic deep/calm voice.

The second band, Thundering Grundons, displayed musical tallents which rival those of signed bands. They played a number of covers and jam songs with the highlight being a perfect rendition of Cocaine by Eric Clapton. Overall they were a impressive group with definite professional qualities.

Cras on the other hand destroyed the calm and cool left by the Grundons as the sounds of deathly classical music came over the PA. This was shortly joined by wailing feedback an impressive rock riff. There was real energy on stage with all the members using each and every corner to engage the audience. Highlighting features of Cras' music was the vocal melodies which sounded over a large range and the guitar solos which resembled those of Slash from Guns and Roses.
At times the members seemed to be off the heads but they still managed to keep the show in hand without things being too badly damaged. There was an abundance of acrobatic jumps, broken guitar straps and small crowd troubles. Overall a highly enjoyable experience.
P.S. groupies were one other noted entity.
